Colour Focus: Soft Green
There is a variety of colours being worn in the fashion world this season, certainly something for everyone!
Looking back, I have terrible memories of the 80’s and all that super bright neon. Over the years, fashion has moved from having limited, often predictable colour choices to embracing a much wider and more diverse colour palette. Thankfully neon isn’t so prominent at present, and for now, we have gorgeous bright colours, pretty pastels, plenty of blues, and versatile naturals on our rails. Today, I want to highlight the earthy tones of soft green, olive and sage.
I personally think these natural earthy greens are quite a sophisticated colour, as they look classy and almost understated. These soft sage greens are both trending in home decor and fashion because of the freshness they bring. They have almost a muted calm vibe coming from the softness of the colour, while still looking natural and refreshing.
Green is a fabulous colour to wear for different occasions. Many colours look fabulous with a sage or an olive, whether you’re planning an outfit for work or weekend plans these sophisticated shades help uplift any outfit. We have a range of these colours and patterns in our stores whether it be our clothing or accessories, so be sure to look out for the ones that might suit you best or pair well with items in your wardrobe. Starting a new season, these greens are the perfect way to lighten up what you’re wearing now. Sage green looks fabulous with black, or denim and instantly lightens your look, it may just refresh something you’re still getting some wear out of. I always love anything light, be it pairing your tonal colours like denim or dark and light shades of green and tan with white or cream. It’s how you pair these colours together that helps create your own look whether it be feminine and elegant using the lighter shades, or a strong and poised look with some of the darker shades.
Pastels also work well with green. Lavender, soft yellow and a pretty pink, all work but make sure to keep the softness of the colours cohesive with the shade of green you choose. Pairing it with a soft peach, a terracotta, tan, beige, nude or anything in the natural tone range is going to work beautifully if you take the time to bring them together and bring some accessories in with it too! I find pairing pastel shades with a matching green instantly gives quite a spring look whilst soft but not necessarily light. While shades of orange and brown paired with your preferred green bring out a warm autumn.
